Imani's journey from Foster Care to Ballet has been one for the history books  -- but sadly her story is not only hers. 

 

Each year thousands of children age out of government care and are "on thier own" , with little to no resources to address the uphill battle ahead!

 

Moreover, even those who are considered fortunate to be placed into legal families, show signs of trauma that can last a lifetime.

​

Facing monumental personal struggles is only part of the picture, as the long term effects of family displacement are often silenced in an industry that procures billions in profit from a system of legal child management and placement.  

​

In more cases than not, the overwhelming feeling that dreams and development lie outside of what is possible, casts a shadow over the lives of those in these circumstancdes, much to the dismay of well meaning offers of support. 

​

DREAM ON! seeks to further the discussion of Child Welfare & Placement System, the power of faith and the arts, and is hoping to give voice to those who most often suffer in silence and whose ideas and dreams are most  often met with dismissal.
